Product Planners

MISSION:

Responsible for the long term vehicle planning and the product life-cycle management of all versions belonging to the Product Family, leads the company in the definition of product and customer requirements for vehicle nameplates. The main target is to establish the product contents and functional/performance objectives taking into account the customer requirements and competitive battleground, supporting product cost definition and profitability targets, with respect of project timing and both commercial and technical product objectives. The program must be developed on the basis of multiple parameters, such as: market segment and competitive positioning, future consumer preferences, economic and energy outlooks, political and regulatory trends, expected sales volume and price, key vehicle attributes (size, performance, drivetrain and other major technology options, availability and utilization of production capacity along with profitability metrics). He/she works with cross functional teams comprised of Engineering, Style, Brand , Regional Marketing, Business Development , Finance, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply chain management to define and develop the product and its features.

He/she is the advocate for a specific vehicle nameplate and is the subject matter expert on the segment competitors.

 

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Product Briefing assessment for next generation

  • Life-cycle management (additional contents following voice of customer)

  • New engines line-up (in collaboration with Powertrain Product Planning)

  • Benchmark analysis and definition of the competitive landscape

  • Product grid and mix release

  • Deployment of new contents in collaboration with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality

     

    KEY ACTIVITIES

    • Develop market analysis to have a deep understanding of the competition, who the customer is and what they want.

    • The Product Manager  translates knowledge of the customer, competitive products, market trends, brand objectives and showroom dynamics into product attributes/features and manages this content globally.

    • Propose a product proposal /brief in the concept phase

    • Communicate the competitive context, customer priorities and vehicle definition to all stakeholders at key product development milestones.

    • Ensure that the business case is profitable and satisfies the customers’ needs in collaboration with Engineering, Design, Commercial department and Finance

    • Work with the different department during the development phase to guarantee the coherence between the product proposal and the final execution. 

    • Support the Regional counterpart (NAFTA, EMEA, APAC) to develop and agree the product plan

    • Support the commercial department and the technical team during the launch.

    • Manage the product changes and request during the life cycle to guarantee the competitiveness of the model
