Powertrain Gasoline – Base Engine Design



The Engineering Design Responsible :

  • Defines and develops technical solutions in accordance with project requirements in terms of quality, performance, timing and cost;
  • Provides support to other departments (e.g. Purchasing, Quality, Testing) for technical topics related to its components;
  • Manages a team of Design Engineers and is accountable for its team performance, know-how and overall growth;
  • Directly reports to the Base Engine Design Manager and operationally to Design Project Leaders.

Main tasks

The Engineering Design Responsible :

  • Coordinates suppliers activities for co-designed components, especially by defining specifications, monitoring D-FMEA and DVP progress;
  • Takes part to the PPAP process together with Quality and Purchasing and assists to suppliers production lines audits;
  • Supports problem solving actions in accordance with Quality standards (e.g. 8D approach), for failures both during development and in the field.


  • Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engine design, specifically in turbochargers development;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Specific knowledge about combustion and fluid dynamics is a plus;
  • The ability to use CAD software such as PTC/Creo or Siemens/NX is a plus.
