Job description

Within the Electric & Electronics Area, he/she will guarantee the development of the projects / processes and team for relevant Telematics System and subcomponents, consistently with the performance, quality, timing, stability and cost targets assigned. 

 

 

Main activities

  • Manage, develop and organize the Audio&Telematics team (internal/contractors) and several resident suppliers
  • Define best in class and cutting edge technical solutions consistently with Project targets and technological processes
  •  Maintain and develop department relations with other internal units, other FCA regions and external organizations, manage and develop complex dependencies, in order to deliver best in class premium product performances, in all markets all over the world
  • Manage the specification of electrical/electronic components to implement the required functionalities with respect to the application requirements and constraints to guarantee performances, quality, weight and cost targets
  • Direct Technical reviews and lead the Supplier selection process
  • Manage co-design suppliers during all phases of the program
  • Release components drawings according to the application vehicles targets
  • Provide technical leadership for advanced technology development
  • Feed data and monitor key performance Indicator (KPI) and competitive KPI benchmarking
  • Support releases of parts for production
 

 

Requirements

  • Electrical electronic related product/vehicle development experience involving the Audio and telematics area
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering 
  • Working knowledge of infotainment and telematics features (audio, video, navigation, hands free phone, voice recognition, Displays) and interfaces (audio, video, bluetooth (BT) and WiFi, cellular, gps)
  • Working knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN), Local Interconnect Network (LIN), Universal Serial Bus (USB), Low Voltage Differential Signalling (LVDS) and Ethernet communication networks
  • Knowledgeable with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) process
  • Experienced with system or component DFMEAs
  • Knowledge of technologies and solutions (HW, SW, Mechanical, Optical) in use today in Infotainment Systems, and of the roadmap for the development of automotive electronic systems
  • Knowledge of Electrical Instruments & Tools
  • Engineering Team leadership experience
  • > 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Language skills: English Upper-Intermediate
  • Willingness to travel frequently to Turin area and ABH area
