CAD Designer - Airbag Specialist

The Airbag Specialist will be responsible for the development of some Restraints components.


Usual Restraints components are:

  • Steering wheels (SW)
  • Driver airbag (DAB)
  • Passenger airbag (PAB)
  • Knee airbags (KAB)
  • Side airbag (SAB)
  • Head airbag (SABIC)


Main responsibilities:

CAD designer for some (2 to 3) Restraints components from above list

  • Manage drawing releases and CAD quality conformity
  • Perform CAD activities like clearance checks, cross sections, creates illustrative pictures for reports, draft of countermeasure proposals concepts, create basic fixtures, etc…
  • Management/follow-up of Design Integrity check list


Airbag specialist for one Restraints component from above list

  • Ensure compliance of technical definition vs specs and best practice and lessons learned
  • Project regular technical management (track and report): BOM views, Open Issues List with project partners (e.g. workpackage FCA or external, codesign supplier), DVP&R, problem solving, etc…
  • Escalate/Manage to DR/SR weekly top project issues and deviation on targets (technical/manufacturing) and final phase to Chief Engineer
  • Support the SR & PC to follow and track the achievements of VO targets
  • Support the SR & PC to follow and track the achievements of Quality targets
  • Support the DR in participating to Tech reviews and supply Synthesis E&D report for each supplier to Purchasing
  • Support the DR in benchmark activities
  • Support the DR to update product cards 

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Full professional proficiency in Italian
  • Good knowledge of English (B2 level)
  • At least 6 months of experience in Product Development
  • Good knowledge of Unigraphics NX
  • At least basic knowledge of MS Office suite and/or Google G-Suite
  • Ability to manage suppliers
  • Autonomy an accountability

  • Ability to manage technical items and issues
  • Good communication & integration capacity
